Who are we?

When we talk about “Motorcycle Rental Ireland Limited” or ”Celtic Rider Ireland” or “us” or “we” on our Data Protection Notice and this website, we are talking about Motorcycle Rental Ireland t/a Celtic Rider Ireland.

How we collect information about you and your consent

We collect personal information from you, for example when you contact us through our ‘Availability Check’ form on our website; apply for products and tours; complete transactions; or look for advice. We also collect information through our website, social media, market research and our CCTV footage.

When you use your credit or debit card we never write down or store your card numbers as they are typed directly into our visa terminal.

Our websites use ‘cookie’ technology. A cookie is a little piece of text that our server places on your device when you visit any of our websites. They help us make the sites work better for you. When you contact us for products and/or services, and during the time you use these, we carry out information searches which ensure that you are gaining the best possible service from us.

Data Analytics – Using information in our business

We analyse the information that we collect and hold on you through channels such as social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, YouTube etc.). This helps us understand your behaviour, our relationship with you and also our position in the market place. Our analysis helps us to offer you products and services that we believe will be of interest to you. We may provide our third party marketing partners with information regarding your location and/or product and/or service required. We compile these reports at an aggregated and anonymised level. Celtic Rider Ireland will never share data at an individual personal level or any information that personally identifies you as a customer (such as your name, email address, etc.) in these reports.

Our Legal Obligations

We have legal obligations to prevent fraud, tax avoidance, and money laundering and terrorist financing. These obligations mean we have to continually update our customer information. We rarely have to share customer information with third party law enforcement agencies. Where false or misleading information is given to us, or we suspect criminal activity we will record this and tell the appropriate law enforcement agencies, which may be within and/or outside Ireland.

Your Information and Third Parties

We sometimes use our marketing company (Boom 22) to work on our behalf or to give us information to help us make decisions.

For example to:

  • trace spam information;
  • process information;
  • conduct market research.

We contract with our third party to whom we give your information for these purposes to keep your information confidential and to respect the law on data protection. (Your name, date of birth, email address, address is never accessible to us through our analytics)

We try to make sure that the information we have about you is accurate and up-to date.

Sometimes we may ask you to verify that the information we have remains accurate. If your information changes or you believe we have information which is inaccurate or not up-to-date please let us know and we will change it.
